Welcome to English 8!

In this class you will read, write, view, listen, and speak. You will continue to grow personally and intellectually by practicing these skills, and as you do you, will continue to develop your capacity to participate effectively in all aspects of society!

 

Reading

Reading is important in this class. You might love reading or you might hate it. Book haters, the challenge is finding the right author. Trust me - there are authors out there for you, you just haven't discovered them yet! We will visit the library often to search for authors that entertain you and hopefully "speak" to your heart. Reading is VERY enjoyable. Some might say it's even more enjoyable than watching movies!

Teams

Most assignments will be posted and submitted in Teams. If you have questions about assignments, reach out for help! Learning is not fun when things are fuzzy!

Homework

There is no homework in this class as I provide sufficient class time to complete assignments. Should you need extended time, you are welcome to work in the classroom at lunch time or take your assignment home for completion. 

 

It is important that you put your best effort into each assignment. This takes effort and patience - lots 'n' lots of patience! Be proud of what you submit - you'll be glad that you did!
